it has been confirmed

on friday, it was confirmed by my doctor that i am pregnant.  he is very excited for us and mentioned that he wants to be a "granddad".

we told my parents over drinks later that night.  thomas ordered a bottle of champagne and it was served to the three of them (ginger ale for me since i have been nauseated a wee bit).  mom squeeled and my father got tears in his eyes.  it was very sweet.

thomas told his family the next day when he called them.  this required a phone call to germany and now we are planning a christmas trip there to be with them before the baby comes.

needless to say, we are very excited as is the family.  tuesday, i have my first ob appointment.  so hopefully all goes well with that.  i want  a natural childbirth and i don't want a pessimist ob (and since it is what i want, barring emergencies/complications, it is what i will have).  i think it should go ok though.  we just have to make it until mid october before letting the world know, apart from our closest friends.
